to Nima, George, Natalie, me
Nima and New Friends!
I am, and certain of ye know, "camping" at the St. Vincent de Paul Center downtown (between St. Catherine and Kentucky on Jackson, seemingly a place for men, for whatever I as 'trannieF' may count in that regard laff). I did have an arrangement with the Brook Hospital in Dupont area to hold my $1300 retirement check until-- by 'hook and crook' I could get out to pick it up, but of late it appears that the check (not for July, which George Eklund and I snagged) for June was sent back to the Treasury on or about 7.12; this leaves me only a little in a fix, as I have arranged for a friend (Heather Pfeiffer) of UPS Store near UL for her to retrieve all mail and packages at box/suite 361, 3131 South Second Street, 40208 (a great boon to me, of course).
I perforce am 'peripatetic/pedestrian'; I behold everywhere campers who either will to 'sleep rough' or who must do so; my own experience with sleeping rough, down at the McAlpine Dam on the Ohio River, lasted a day and a half, was beaten (with ballbat like baton and say knotted ropewhip) by a man who seemed to think I was a threat to the women in the homeless camp of rough sleepers under the Highway 64 overpass nearer Portland, who then forced to walk naked onto Main Street, successfully finding a cop who took me to safekeepilng at ULouisville Hospital, which I may connect to Brook Hospital is where UL Hx sent me.
My story got complicated, but I do not think it may be "very unusual,", for as I view the myriads of homeless people downtown at every turn here, I see and hear of woes like mine, let me call this a de-spite-ing of the federal and Commonwealth executive orders and court injunctions NOT TO EVICT FOLK; too bad, too bad, too bad for me that on May 12 this year no matter decency, and as I have reported in this my blog "Sleeping Roughly! An Evicted Rentpayer Hollers," did begin my search for a new home, deprived of the happy and then-presumed abiding-to-my-death to have me in the midst of an uncertainty whose potential for violence at-me and catastrophe and an indifferent death loom viable-needing-constant-attention.
I can write=> my skills and prior blogging abet this as means; now I am keen in motive to "holler" about a system of crazy governance which will at-top see value in a plagued domain as this USA to NOT evict people, and at the bottom to for-commerce-evident to evict-people-like-crazy; I have the opportunity TO WRITE in this free library, a Carnegie Model public library "Louisville Free Public Library" to write this diatribe and malediction of sorts and certain declamation to those who do not see that at one side of the rental/lease contract, there can be and is an equity and human value for "promotion of the general welfare" that ought and must be regarded when the time comes when for a reason a Lord of Land may have-- say I am getting tired of getting your rent every month-- to uproot forcefully from a 'property' of-his/her (probably his, though laff) which is for someone 'my-home,'
I post this Gmail to you in goodwill in a good-faith effort to critique a system as medieval as the Lord of Land and his Tenet (French-Latin= "holdee") as against a new or newer notion of social-equity which a tenant may have and which a land which values "promoting general welfare" might well find in my hollering a value that could and should be universal in a place (like ours) which wants "liberty and justice for all" not just to those with an entitlement of property legally posted by a government clerk "downtown where the paper records are" laff.
